A statement of fitness report will be issued to the Senior Medic and HR.

Fitness to work standards is set to ensure that the person is fit to carry out the work safely without the risk to themselves and others.

PetroMed will try to help employees to be healthier and control their chronic diseases which will reduce direct and indirect costs to the business and will have a positive overall impact on society.

All the Data of Pre-employment will be recorded in hard and soft copy and all information will be kept in confidentiality according to the Data Protection Act.

The aim of this pre-employment screening is to ensure that individuals are fit to perform the tasks they are employed to carry out and to see that their health condition does not impose any risk to themselves, others and on his job and to avoid them suffering sudden incapacity. Also to find out that the employees are free from any chronic illness and when they have it, has to be recorded and followed up.

Pre-employment screening will allow the employer to:

  • Identify physical or psychological problems (including any underlying problems) which may affect the person’s ability to carry out the job.
  • Meet any statutory health surveillance requirements which can then be used as a baseline measure to detect any changes during employment.
  • Discover whether a person is in risk of developing work-related diseases from hazardous substances present in the workplace.
  • Identify any adjustments that may be required for the person to carry out the job to ensure the company meets the requirements of the EA.
  • Identify whether candidates require pre-employment immunisations.
  • Advice candidates of reasons why certain job positions may not be suitable for them.
  • Use the baseline data for future assessment
