what does a pre employment medical consist of
At first, fitness to work assessment form has to be filled in by offshore medic . Then, a complete employment medical examination will be perforemed by Oil Rig Doctor. After that, basic medical tests for employment will be done. The Basic test includes Spirometry, Audiometry, medical test for eye, Drug test and hand arm vibration.
In order to decide that the potential employee is fit to his nature of work, all employee should get fit at work Certificates. Fit for work assessment will be performed by Oil Rig doctor . PETRO MED has a Certified Registered Doctor In the list of OGUK.
How offshore medical services will be provided
PETRO MED an Oilfield Medical Services, provides all range of health services to offshore areas. PETRO MED makes the life of employees to be insured by providing well experienced an offshore doctor at the site. Petro Med will do pre emplyment medical to all new employees who work there to find who is fit to work. The primary purpose of this fitness for work assessment is to ensure that prospective employee is fit to perform the task effectively. The Other purpose is to make sure that there is no any risk to their own health and safety and others. Therefore medical examinations for employment must take into consideration in the work environment.
Remote medical services to oilfield companies that faraways from Hospitals
All range of Health and Medical equipment Services will be provided by PETRO MED to remote site. PETRO MED has a mobile medical services that can provide all range of health care to all oilfields that are away from hospitals. If the oilfield operation stand for long period of time , Petro Med will setup a temporary clinic at workplace.
How onsite medical services will be set up
When the Oil and Gas Companies stay for a long period of time at the drilling site, PETRO MED will set up a clinic. All range of health services will be provided such as ambulance services and 24/ 7 days emergency services. An Oil & Gas Doctor will be staying at the site with an offshore medic to manage all the patients and casualties there.
Major Health risk will be identified by PETRO MED Team by regularly checking up employees health. Occupational Health services intermittently and regularly will be carried out to Oil and Gas field and to all employees who work there.
Specific occupational exposure assessments will be based upon the type of workplace exposure that employee may expose to.
For the purpose of the pre-employment health assessments, occupations have been classified into the following groups:
- Administrative Role (Office based only)
- Site based-Plant (Potential exposure to noise, chemicals, dust etc)
- Site Based-Camp (Minimal exposure to noise. Potential exposure to heat, chemicals, dust etc)
- Site Based-Specific Health Requirement (e.g. Food handlers )
